Polycarbonate (PC) is colorless and transparent in appearance, and some are slightly yellowish. Burn slowly, slowly extinguish the flame after leaving the fire, the flame is yellow when burning, black smoke, foaming, carbonization, phenol smell.
Before using polycarbonate (PC), you need to ensure the following questions to choose the right glue:
1>> determine the amount of glue used in the first product, and then determine the maximum cost of glue for this product, if the requirements for small area bonding are relatively high, you can consider instant glue, PC has low requirements for adhesive cost, you can consider solvent-based glue.
2>> If PC and insensitive materials are adhered to, please choose glue with insensitive materials, because PC is a plastic material that is easy to bond, like PC and PP adhesion, you can consider finding glue suitable for PP bonding, and then use with surface insensitive surface treatment agents. Clean the surface with a treatment agent first, so that a good bonding effect will be achieved. Of course, this cost is not low. However, the bonding is super strong and reaches the destructive power of the bonding surface. If the PC is bonded with metal materials, you can also consider using metal bonding type glue. If the PC is adhered to the PC, if the adhesion is good, the instant glue can be used, and the cost is low, the solvent-based PC glue will be a good choice.
3>> Next, determine the size of the bonding surface of the adhered object, if the area is small, you can consider the instant type of glue, the adhesion is strong, and it can achieve destructiveness. If the bonding surface is relatively large, more than 10cm2 will be able to use one-component slow-drying glue, a large area of slow drying glue will give you enough time to operate, so that the cost will be much lower, the bonding effect is also good, but can not achieve the damage of the bonding surface, the tensile force is good.
4>> Only then can you accurately know and choose the correct glue suitable for yourself.
5>> Determine whether the material of the PC is sticky, or whether the PC is sticking to other materials (such as PP/PE/POM/metal/rubber...). If it is a surface insensitive material such as PP/PE/POM, glue should be considered from an insensitive material.
6>> Determine the specific media resistance of the bonded product, that is, the specific bonding requirements, (such as: bonding speed / colloidal color / colloidal consistency / high and low temperature resistance / bonding strength and other requirements).
